One widely quoted estimate suggests that between 5-10% of people online are "web dependent."

∙ 12y agoWell, if you know how to use a computer, you've taken the time to learn how. That in itself is an online addiction. If you are on the computer 4 hours out of your whole day, that is an epic online addiction. If you know at least 70 diffrent websites, you have an epic online addiction as well. There are really no one who is at risk for an online addiction. Basicly if you know how to work a computer, you have an online addiction.

∙ 10y agoI feel that the allure of the internet is that you can be someone else a completely different person than you are in real life you can be anybody and build your reputation in way's that are not possible in day to day life. Also, the fact the you can instantly gratify your self on line you find anything online from porn to cooking accesories. These two reason's, although there are more, give people the want to be online in excess and can lead to feeling you need to be online.
