Other than Hitler "Declaring War" on the US; nothing in Europe led to Pearl Harbor. This portion of WW2 was a personal fight between Japan and the US. Japan threw the first punch. Germany had absolutely nothing to do with it. If Germany had NOT declared war on the US on December 11, 1941...we "may" not have ever fought Germany. The German High Command most certainly did NOT want a stronger enemy to fight...they had their hands FULL fighting on the Russian Front! WW2 was really a war between Russia (Soviet Union) and Germany in Europe; and the US against Japan in the Pacific. The Soviets call WW2, "The GREAT PATRIATIC WAR." The US calls WW2 in the Pacific Theater, "THE PACIFIC WAR." Great Britain, Australia, France, and China were a secondary players of a great conflict. It's an historical fact that the US intentionally would not allow British Naval Forces to participate in many of the Pacific Battles;(Officially) because, quite naturally they didn't have long range capabilities, such as re-fuelling at sea.
