The man who was to become the first Roman emperor (not king) was not originally related to Julius Caesar. He was from the Octavia family, whereas Caesar was from the Julia (or Julian) family. Julius Caesar adopted him in his will. Theretofore, he was his adoptive son. His name was originally Gaius Octavius. With his adoption he became Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus in accordance with the Roman tradition about the naming of adoptees. He took the first name (praenomen) clan name (nomen) and clan branch name (cognomen) of his adopter with the addition of the cognomen (clan name) of the original clan with the addition of -anus to indicate the clan of origin of the adoptee. When Julius Caesar was defied in 42 BC, he added Divi Filius (Son of the Divine) to his name, becoming Gaius Julius CaesarDivi Filius. In 38 BC, he replaced Gaius and Julius with Imperator, the title by which troops hailed their victorious commander (and therefore meant winner in battle), becoming Imperator Caesar Divi Filius. In 27 BC the Roman Senate gave him the title of Augustus (the venerable) and he became Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus.

He was the first of many to stab ceasar. He also said, "Speak hands for me!" It was the last thing said before Caeser's murder.
Julius Caesar was NOT a king, Rome had been a republic for several hundred years. Before that, it had been ruled by kings, and after Caesar's murder it soon switched to emperors (for the first decades there were 2 then 3 rulers at the same time, but then they decided 1 emperor was enough!).
Julius Caesar never became "king" of Rome. The senates stabbed him to death because they thought he was going to become "king" of Rome
