Oh my.....when Victorian or Turn of the Century ladies found callouses forming on their hands, they were horrified! In a time when hands revealed so much to young suitors...callouses, blisters, hangnails, split nails or dirt was simply a NO NO. Ladies of 'means' had servants, maids, cooks, & gardeners to do the meanial tasks. Finding a callouse meant prompt, & quick action. Beauty aids back then were in the form of pumice stones, for those who could well afford the price tag of 19 cents! Well before manicures, massages & health spas, the Victorian or early 20th century woman could have smooth, silky young looking hands in no time by using this simple product.
