Women were not usually monarchs, though there were a number of them in the Middle Ages.
A woman was nearly never specifically a king, though we do know that there was a Polish woman crowned as King Hedwig. She is called Queen Hedwig today, but was crowned as king because she wanted to make it clear to everyone that she was the monarch.
There is a medieval story that one of the popes was a woman, called Pope Joan, but historians give this little or no credence. Church law forbade it, so it would have been illegitimate anyway.
Women were specifically excluded from being monarchs of France and Denmark, among other countries. There was a woman who was a monarch of Denmark anyway, Margaret I.
Women were rarely doctors of medicine. We do know of a very famous one in Italy, however, named Trotula of Salerno.

During the Middle Ages, women did nearly everything men did, except act as priests or bishops. Roles that they did, but not commonly, included being monarchs, knights, soldiers, and doctors. More often, women were merchants, educators, masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, and such things, but these jobs were not really very commonly held by women.
