The war of 1812 and the Mexican War were similar in that both?
Similiar in that they both used flintlock muskets/rifles, but that's about it. They were different enemies; different causes; different times; and different places. One more thing, the Mexican War was a war of westward expansion, territorial gains by the US; it was called "Manifest Destiny." 1812 was simply a disagreement between Britain & the US.
