My info only goes back to a 1968 which has a 165/80-15. I believe your 1966 has 14" wheels and uses 185/65-14, but I could be wrong. I know you can use this size tire, but if you are looking to install the OEM size, contact your local VW dealer to make sure I am correct, because I am not 100% sure. === ===
Original tire size was 5.60-15, this was a bias-ply construction.An equivelant modern alpha-numeric sizing would be 155SR-15 or 165/80R-15.
