How did people perform hajj before Islam?

There was no Hajj before Islam as it is one of the 5 Pillars of Islam. However, the pagan Arabs used to perform their own kind of pilgrimage, which consisted of each tribe in Arabia visiting the Holy Kabah with idols which they had made (the pagan Arabs did consider the Holy Kabah as a sacred sanctuary).

How would the word kabah be used in a sentence?

"Kabah" is not a common English word - assuming this refers to "Kaaba", an Islamic sacred building in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, a possible sentence would be "The Kaaba is one of the holiest sites in Islam."

How many years before did Islam come and why do people bow them self in front of the black stone kaaba is it idol worship and why do people kiss the kaaba or hug the kaaba if it is not idol worship.?

Muslims believe that Islam has been here since the beginning of life on Earth with Adam (A) but it was completed by Muhammad (Peace Be Apon Him) people bow in front of the Kabah because it is like you are bowing down saying that God is most loved in Islam you don't ask people to pray for you when you pray it is direct contact with God. people kiss and hug the Kabah because it is a really religious thing and it represents a very holy event in our time. I know because i am a Muslim and it is part of what we do and it isn't idol worship. Idol worship is like what Hindus do ( If this offends any Hindus I am more then sorry) because they have the statues of there Gods and they pray to them but the kabah isn't the face of God it is a monument in a way.

Can you make a model of the kabah?

What makes Mecca unique?

A:Mecca is unique because it was the home city of the prophet Muhammad and therefore the place where Islam began. It was also the location of the Kabah, the cube-shaped pagan shrine in the heart of Mecca. It was already quite ancient and the original meaning of the cult associated with it had been forgotten but, at the time of Muhammad, the shrine was dedicated to Hubal, a Nabatean deity, and there were 360 idols arranged around the Kabah. Because of the shrine, Mecca was a place of pilgrimage for pagans, but also even for Arabic Jews and Christians. Muhammad therefore felt that the Kabah ought to be kept as a place of pilgrimage for Islam.
