no Slavery is usually for life. It has no benifits. It has no rights. In the draft, you are repaying to the country didn't take away from you-your rights and liberties. Also, the draft is (I think) a three year deal, while slavery is forever
The 26th Amendment was created so that soldiers were able to vote and have say in who made their decisions. Most people don't think that 26th amendment did much for our country, but i think it did a lot because it made more opinions in the world today. The new age to vote was 18 years old and cause of the big draft of 1996 many soldiers didnt get to vote.
In the US the draft began in 1940, while the US was still at peace. This was the first peacetime draft in American history. The draft law allowed drafting one million men for one year's service. The law came up for renewal in August 1941, three months before Pearl Harbor. The renewal of the draft passed Congress by the margin of a single vote. None of the original one million men drafted got out, either, which aggravated them more than just a little. They were in "for the duration" of the war, which most people knew the US would get into sooner or later. The US continued drafting men for the service from 1940 right through 1973.

Nibs is a term used in Cribbage....and a void in cards is when you don't have cards of that suit in your hand. So my vote goes to Cribbage.... ?? :-)
The first draft was only rejected by the House, so no Senators voted on it. The first version of the bill to reach the Senate was passed. Here is the roll call of the Senate vote: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=s2008-213
The Executives draft the bills. Members of the public have their say by making submissions. The Parliament makes the laws, then vote on them.
The constitutional amendments passed between 1910 and 1920 included the 16th which started the income tax, the 17th which gave the election of senator to the popular vote, the 18th which was prohibithion (banning of alchool) and the 19th which in women's sufferage (rigth to vote)

It is a crime to not have fantasy drafting in this game. Go to EA Sports [see related link] to vote to get it back.
Wouldn't it be nice if we cared enough for our country and citizens to actually identify who is here legally and who has the right to vote or not.
