There was only one, from August 1990 to February 1991. As to the cause, it was oil. Iraq invaded Kuwait and threatened to dominate 75% of the world's oil exports. After the war, President Bush admitted it.

∙ 8y agoOh boy.It started with the Kuwaitis buying a slant drill and drilling oil wells into the al-Rumaila oil field....which is completely within Iraq. Saddam Hussein told the US to make them stop or he would. The US ambassador told Saddam we had "no position on your border dispute." So Iraq annexed Kuwait by force.
