Pennsylvania Also, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Northwest of New Jersey there is part of New York and part of Canada, which was a colony. South and West of New Jersey are the Carolinas Georgia and Florida.
The Carolinas were founded in 1663. In 1712 North and South Carolina became separate colonies. Most of the colonists in North Carolina were farmers who had moved south from Virginia. Unlike Virginia, North Carolina had few plantations. The colony had no towns and few churches until the early 1700s. In 1719 the British government bought South Carolina from the original proprietors. The Crown thn bought north carolina in 1729 making it royal colony as well.

In 1710, due to disputes over governance, the Carolina colony began to split into North Carolina and South Carolina. The latter became a crown colony in 1729. It had nothing to do with the Civil war as both Carolinas exhisted before the War and both sides joined the South
