Since Americans do not live the way they believe people should live, the United States is filled with infidels according to the extremist Islamic militants. It is also believed that Osama wanted to lure the U.S. into wars, diminish support of the U.S. by its allies, and find other ways to drain the U.S. economy until it collapsed.
