What was the relationship between Banastre Tarleton and Charles Cornwallis?

For all intents and purposes Cornwallis was honorable, Tarleton was not. Nuff said! Cornwallis was the commanding officer of Tarleton. Cornwallis used Tarleton's military style to win. Cornwallis was not the one going into the deep areas of South Carolina...Tarleton was. During that time, gorilla warfare was taking place. England wanted to keep America. The English citizens in America rebelled. Tarleton's job was to win at all costs. The lesson to be learned from Tarleton's loyalty to his country was that the only loyalty that counts is loyalty to the victor. Tarleton was a warrior. The fighting was hard and it was dirty compared to the smartly dressed British in their cute red uniforms. Let's get real...war is dirty business. War is never clean. Tarleton tried to defend his actions as doing what he was told to do...win at all costs...but for his honesty...he was treated badly as what almost always happens to the whistleblower. For a balanced view of the relationship between Cornwallis and Tarleton see the link below.
