The first war after World War 2 would have been the Korean War. The Korean War was instigated by North Korea by invading South Korea on June 25 of 1950. They had some support by the Soviet Union, and China later joined the war in favor of North Koreans. Bulgaria, Chechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Romania all supplied medical assistance to North Korea.

South Korea received much more major support. The United Nations (UN) chose to side with South Korea. Sixteen different countries took on combat roles. These countries were the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Turkey, Thailand, France, Ethiopia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, Philippines, South Africa, New Zealand, and Greece.

South Korea also received medical assistance from Denmark, India, Italy, Norway, and Sweden.

The war bounced back and forth, both making signifcant territorial gains before losing them. The end result was extremely little border changes. A ceasefire was signed on July 27, 1953. This makes it only a few days shy of 61 years long (although actual fighting has been limited to only about 3 years). This makes it possibly one of the longest wars in history (technically).

Today, the two are on touchy terms. Border gunfights constantly emerge. Incidents of bombing, artillery strikes, and assasination attemps occassionally pop up aswell to date.

Both have armed forces of over 5 million servicemen currently.
