It was simply to identify them as Jehovah's Witnesses. No particular meaning as far as I know was assigned to the color; all the ones the Nazi's targeted wore triangles. The colors identified the particular offense of which the wearer was guilty. Jews wore yellow triangles, but they wore each wore two triangles, one of which was turned upside down so that together they formed the Star of David. Here is a brief list of triangles used in the majority of camps: Red triangle: political prisoners (Social Democrats, Communists, Freemasons, anarchists and other "enemies of the state").

Green triangle: people considered criminals in most societies; "habitual criminals".

Blue triangle: Foreign Forced Laborers

Pink triangle: homosexual men and other sexual offenders.

Purple triangle: Jehovah's Witnesses, Bible Student movement members

Black Triangle: so-called "Asocial elements," mentally retarded, alcoholics, vagrants, the habitually "work-shy", or prostitutes.

Brown triangles: Roma or Gypsy

Two superimposed yellow triangles: a Jew, by practice or descent.

Jehovah's Witnesses refused to conform to Nazi ideology and refused to cooperate with Hitler's political aims and military endevors and and because of this were targeted for the harshest of treatments. What world leader considered Jehovah's Witnesses to be not real Christians?

Adolf Hitler. He once said, "These so-called Earnest Bible Students [Jehovah's Witnesses] are troublemakers; ... I consider them quacks... I dissolve [Jehovah's Witnesses] in Germany.'" He said that in the May 29, 1938 issue of "The German Way". Some people, even in our modern times, still agree with Adolf Hitler, that Jehovah's Witnesses (legally named the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses) are not real Christians.
