The Blue Stripe on the end of the flag represents the Mississippi River, however, it probably should have been placed on the opposite end of the flag. Red symbolizes courage for the 30,000 men who volunteered for the Mexican War, when Gov. Aaron Brown only requested 2800.

There is no true meaning to the blue on the American flag. Betsy Ross added the blue to make the stars brighter. The original flag was read and had red stars.
I think it would be worth about 5,000 since there are not many kind of those flags that are out there. It could also be worth more!

The three stars on the TN flag represent the three different land forms in Tennessee. Mountains in the east, highlands in the middle and lowlands in the west. On the flag these regions are bound together in an unbroken circle. The field is crimson with a blue background for the stars. The final blue strip relieves the sameness of the crimson field and prevents the flag from showing too much crimson when it is limp.
