It depends on how they make that claim.

Bedouin and Druze claim that Israel belongs to them as much as it belongs to the Jews and proudly call themselves Bedouin Israelis and Druze Israelis.

A number of Arabs who formerly lived in what is now Israel or the Occupied Territories claim that the Jewish State is illegitimate and demand that country be returned to them for administration. These individuals are called Palestinians. (Admittedly, a number of Palestinians are willing to allow Israel to exist outside of the Occupied Territories, but there is no difference in naming between the Two-Staters and the One-Staters.)

What area do the Arabs own in Israel?

It depends on who you mean by "the Arabs". If you are referring to Arab citizens of any state, even Israel, then most Arab land-holdings are in the Galilee region in the north of Israel, although there is a significant Arab population with land-holdings in Haifa, Acre, and Jerusalem. If you are referring to Arab governments, the Arabs own no territory in the State of Israel. Hamas controls the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian Authority controls parts of the West Bank, neither of which are in sovereign Israeli territory.

How did the Arab Israel war of 1948 affect Palestinian Arabs?

Why does Spain live in peace while Israel does not?

Answer 1The analogy between Spain and Israel in their history with Muslim Arabs is so evident that it will be easy to make the conclusions.Arabs in the 12th century conquered practically all of the Iberian Peninsula and ruled there for 800 years. But the Spaniards , after 800 years, claimed their land back, supported the claim with arms, got it in the course of the war - and threw the Arabs out.Since then they live in peace in their own country.Arabs conquered Palestine in the 7th century and ruled their 300 years, until they lost this land to Turks.1000 years later Jews claimed their land back, supported the claim with arms, got it in the course of the war - but unlike Spaniards, DID NOT throw the Arabs out.Since then Jews do not live in peace in their own country. What logical conclusion would you make?Answer 2There are a few other major considerations as to why the situation in Spain is different from the one in Israel as regards Militant Islam, then because the Israelis did not forcibly remove all Arabs.Arab Politics vs. Arab Institutionalized Ethnicity: Arabs were a political institution in Spain, not an ethnic institution. This is to say that the majority of people in Iberia during the Arab Rule were native Iberians and Amazigh (Berber Tribes), not Arabs. In fact, most Arab Rulers in Spain married Iberian Christians to dilute their bloodline. The defeat of the Arabs in Spain (both Christians and Amazigh) was a political event as opposed to an identity-or-social event. Arabs today regret losing Spain in the same way the British regret losing their Empire, but this is a political sentiment not a social one.The overwhelming majority of the people in Palestine prior to 1920 were Arabs, so it was an ethnic institution and some families have ties to the land that are several centuries older than the oldest possible "Spain ties" were in 1492.Arab Humiliation: When the Arabs lost to the Spaniards in the Reconquista, many Arabs saw it it as part of the natural ebb and flow of conquests. The Ottomans were making huge gains in southeastern Europe during the same period and Muslims could easily claim that if they needed to, they could deal Spain a deadly blow. This softened the loss.In the case of Israel, the Arabs of the 1700s and 1800s had been subjected to European Imperialism and Colonialism. The Arab response to this foreign domination was to feel weakened and betrayed in much the same way many Germans felt after World War I. The presence of a non-Muslim State in the Middle East made primarily of immigrants and their descendants, serves as a reminder of how powerless and betrayed many Arabs felt during this humiliating period.Time Passing: The Spain events happened much earlier in history than the Israel events and are therefore less fresh in people's minds.UN Resolution Confusion: While the situation in Spain has no UN Resolutions to accompany it, there are a mountain of UN Resolutions concerning the Israel-Palestine situation. Israelis and Arabs argue as to whether Israel or the Arabs have complied with the requirements of those resolutions. Both chose to impart their own unique readings of the various resolutions to prove their "correctness" and the other side's failure to live up to the true meaning of the resolutions, especially where UN Res. 181, 194, and 242 are concerned.

What country are Arabs and Jews fighting for?

Answer 1After WWII and the Holocaust, peace treaties established that a Jewish nation would be established on the land the Jews had lived on for millenia (this is year 5763 on the Jewish calendar), so that there would be a Jewish homeland and the Jews would be able to go back "home" if God forbid another Holocaust occurred with attempts to "exterminate" the world's Jews. Arabs had also lived in areas of what is now Israel, and the Arabs that owned and lived on property within the borders were invited to become full citizens of the new, tiny, country. However, egged on by large surrounding Arab nations that didn't like the idea of a Jewish State, these landowners decided that they did not want to be part of a Jewish state, even though they would be perfectly free to practice their own religion and would be full citizens, and fled Israel. However, the same surrounding Arab countries did not actually wish to take these people into their own large countries - they knew that the only way to keep the displaced groups angry and upset would be for them not to have a homeland themselves. So these groups of former landowners, as well as poor Arabs who had not owned land to begin with, who fled the new country of Israel on their own accord, were not let into the large, surrounding Arab nations, and they had to be mad at someone - so they chose Israel. They did end up in a crappy position, but not because they couldn't have stayed and prospered in the new country of Israel, though most of the Arab population in the contentious areas has now been brainwashed to believe that it was Israel's fault that they left their land. Possibly ideally, a two-state solution would give the "Palestinians" their own country side by side with Israel, which has been proposed time and time again, but the Palestinians seem not to want "peace" - they want no Israel. When borders can be proposed that do not leave Israel with an inability to defend its own borders that it won in wars in which it was attacked, I believe that a two-state solution would be the best option to provide the Palestinians with a country to call their own, next to Israel, but they have to accept this, which would require them accepting Israel as a legitimate nation.Answer 2Jews and Arabs are fighting for the territory that once belonged to the British Mandate of Palestine. The Jews call this territory Israel and have established a country there. The Arabs call this territory Palestine and have attempted to establish a country in a minority of the land with limited success.

Did the US provide Israel with nuclear weapons?

No, Israel designed their own.

Israel is a bone in the Arabs' throats when do you expect this entity will be obliterated from the World's map?

Keep dreaming.Israel is portrayed as an evil country by some of the media, by many U.N. and E.U. statements, and by much of the Arab and Muslim world. This despite the fact that Israel has better human-rights than any other country in the region (click on the blue text for details).Israel has been boycotted for decades, and its citizens have suffered from the conflict, yet it continues to be optimistic and it enjoys God's protection. The presence of the Jews in Israel is questioned by some, despite the Jews' history in and from Israel, and despite God's clear words bestowing Israel to them. Words which are recognized by Islam as well. Those who condemn Israel for its side in the conflict, fail to condemn the actions of Israel's enemies, no matter how heinous.See also:More about Israel

Why did Palestinians flee what is now known as Israel?

Answer 1"Invaders arrived with guns and forced them out."Answer 2Answer 1 is a rhetorical answer to this rhetorical question, when in fact a more accurate statement might be: Arabs that remained in Israel and whom chose to live peacefully became what is known as Israeli Arabs, and Arabs that either participated in pogroms or sided with Arab nations who sought Israel's destruction Identified themselves as "Palestinian".Arabs prior to the six day war in 1967, were given aid from Arab nations and were informed that if they remained after the loss of the Jordanian controlled (woe to Jordan if they were to establish a homeland for the Palestinians when they had a chance) West bank, they would lose this aid and Arab propaganda told them they would have no safe haven.Additionally, many Native Palestinian Arabs residing in Jordan (also part of the original Palestinian mandate) were not recognized by the ruling family in Jordan favored by the Brittish for fighting the Turks during WWI, rose up against the Jordanians and were massacred on a very large scale by the Jordanians. (For more information read about the founding of the PLO and Black September.) Today, of course The King of Jordan styles himself as a Champion of Palestinian Rights and argues for the "Right of Return" as he would be happy to rid his own country of any Malcontents.Arab Nations continue to exploit the Arabs that remained in Israel as a method of creating political and security problems as they were unable to destroy Israel in conventional wars.Surely, Palestinian Arabs are the odd men out in middle eastern Politics as are the Kurds, Turkmen, Assyrians, and the Copts (who live under Arab rule with no homeland). But placing the blame exclusively on the founding of Israel is unbalanced.
