It would of been quite hard for an outside observer to tell the difference between a Jew and a newly converted follower of the 'Way' or Christianity. Indeed, most all of the 1st converts of Christ were Jews. Newly converted Christians were taught in Jewish Synagogues. The Jerusalem Council spoken about in Acts 15 had the main intent to have places for the Gentiles to learn of God's Law and ways - as there were no established places for this in the newly forming Church of God.
So, initially, Jews and Christians were from the same 'foundation.' And this continued until the Roman Empire put laws in place making it prohibitive to 'Judaize.' Changing the Sabbath to Sunday was a major event. They initiated many other traditions - all while defaming the Jewish traditions and blaming them for most everything. Yet, today, many Christians have re-discovered their Jewish kindreds and are closely associated.
God is the God of one Bible - the instruction manual for all mankind. He did not send His Son, born a Jew, to die for just the Jews or House of Israel. He sent Him to die for the sins of all mankind - regardless of the religious beliefs of many.
