The result of that revolution was the overthrow of Russia's Provisional Government, a halt to efforts to prepare a new constitution and the imposition of communist Dictatorship. That dictatorship then abolished the private ownership of property and took control of all the means of production throughout the country. Any hopes that Russia would become a democratic country after the overthrow of the Tsar were quickly dispelled.
