The British Isles are a group of islands that consist of the islands of Great Britain, Ireland and over six thousand smaller isles. The North Channel, the Irish Sea, and Saint George's Channel are between the British Isles and the North Sea, Celtic Sea and English Channel surround them.

Only parts of England have a coastline. England is part of Britain, and Island consisting of England, Wales and Scotland, therefore England itself is not surrounded by water.

Wales and Scotland share a common border with England. The Atlantic Ocean, North Sea, English Channel, Irish Sea and Celtic Sea surround all of them.
