Roughly speaking, the higher the level requirement to wield a weapon, the more damage-per-second it does on average. Thus, a tier-90 weapon will do significantly much damage than a tier-80 weapon, which will do significantly more damage than a tier-70 weapon, etc.In general, I suggest you use the highest tier of weapons for which you have the required level, and which you can afford.
What weapon you choose will also depend whether you want to fight with melee, magic, or ranged; this, in turn, will depend on what you are fighting against, since most monsters have specific weaknesses.
The tier-90 weapons are the noxious staff (for magic), the noxious longbow (for ranged), and three different types of drygore weapons (for melee).
