the Pawnee believed in a God named Tirawa
The four tribes of the Pawnee group used the same weapons as all other Plains tribes: lances, bows and arrows, clubs, hatchets, knives and guns - the last three obtained in trade. Pawnee bows were made of ash wood or Osage orangewood, about 40 to 53 inches long and sometimes with the bark left on or painted red. Arrows were about 25 inches long and fletched with eagle feathers. Some arrow points were cut from sheet brass. Various types of warclub included the "gun-stock" style: shaped like the wooden stock of a gun, with a knife blade set into the outer angle. Many "pipe tomahawks" were presented or traded to the Pawnees - these had both a pipe bowl and a hatchet- or diamond shaped blade, but they were too flimsy for actual use as a weapon.
