Some units of the Afghan National Army have received M16 and M4 rifles, but, generally, the AKM and Chinese Type 56 rifles are standard. Some AK-74s are in service, but not particularly commonplace. Soviet/Russian, Chinese, and Pakistani manufactured PK machine guns and RPG-7s are quite commonplace, as well. The G3 rifle - manufactured in Iran and Pakistan - can be found there, as well.
No nuclear weapons have been used in Afghanistan to date.

probably both sides. many weapons were picked up after a battle. Union weapons were used by the confederates and confederate weapons were used by the union forces.

Symbols for the now dissolved Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) is the hammer and sickle, and the Red Star. The Red Star is still used by Russian Federation forces, for note.
