Fundamentally, Eichmann was not so much a savage hater as he was a self-important bureaucrat who was given an assignment to kill people and tired to please his masters by being very good at it.
Psychological experiments by researchers like Milgram and Zimbardo (look them up) demonstrated that it was surprisingly easy to get people to do cruel things, so Eichmann's deeds were, sadly, nothing very special or strange to the human mind.
