Unless one counts the then novel execution device- the Electric Chair ( gas chambers did not come into use until AFTER 1900) They were not used. Much was made of reform of judicial review, and as is talked of today peace under law- as opposed to Might Makes Right. Torture was generally either banned or not talked about openly, unlike capital punishment, which took various forms.
