Kent State Shooting AkA Kent State Massacre. It shouldn't be considered a massacre though, considering only 4 people were shot and killed and 9 were injured. This was an incident initiated by the National Guard who claims that protestors were charging them which some believe is not true. The nearest victim to them was 71 feet away. His name was Joseph Lewish Jr. The National Guard claims that they were ordered to fire on the violent students who tried to rush them but from recent events it was soon discovered that the government could not handle the idea that students were protesting even though the constitution allows it so they tried to shoot them down. Most of them got away but 4 were killed instantly. Two of them were just students heading to class and got caught in the crossfire. The government tried to cover it up but one of the survivors found a tape in the archives at Yale University College and showed it to the court. They reopened the case and they still refuse to admit the truth as to what happened that day on May 4, 1970.
Not everyone who served during the era of the Vietnam War went to Vietnam. Some remained in cantonment. Some participated in other military actions during this era (e.g., the occupation of the Dominican Republic, etc.). Some were stationed in other countries in support of operations in Vietnam. "Vietnam-era veteran" refers to them.
It is going to be about what happened around the Vietnam war era, including the Cuban events and of course the Vietnam war.
the Vietnam war It will be set somewhere in the cold war era, in places like Vietnam. However at this moment in time we don't know much. Plus the events leading to JFK's assassination.
Beginning service when the war was going on is considered Vietnam "Era." A veteran doesn't have to serve "in country" to meet "Era" status.
