challenged the power of the catholic church. It formed a whole new part of Christianity that spread into more smaller religions under one big, widely known religion. Martin Luther was also the one who started the reformation. he posted the 95 thesis on the local church door and someone took it and mass printed it. everyone who agreed looked up to martin luther. Martin luther also didn't know what he intended the local church to see will go all over Europe. The pope at the time excommunicated him and he got kicked out of Germany, his home country.
