Nicholas and Alexandra had only on son, Tsarevitch Alexei , who unfortunately had hemophilia. He did not die from this, but in desperation, Alexandra turned to Rasputin, the Mad Monk for help. Many believe this attributed to the Revolution and the downfall of the House of Romanov.
Czar Nicholas II had five children. Four daughters Olga, Tatiana, Marie and Anastasia and a son Alexi. There was another person who claimed to be a daughter of the Czar born in between Anastasia and Alexi but claimed because she was another girl was given away. This however is probably not true.
Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia. They signed their names as OTMA using the first letter in each of their names.
Olga was the oldest and the smartest. She had little sense of humor but had great interest in politics. Olga was very introverted and spent most of her time alone, reading. Olga was very well known for her foul ter emper, as well as her belief that some people are meant to be of higher ranking. She would even feel sorry for Goliath when reading her Bible. She was Nicholas' favorite.
Tatiana was next. She was beautiful and graceful, just as a princess should be. She was also bossy and earned the nickname "the Governess" from her sisters. She was also treated as the ambassador of the royal children and was always the one sent when they wanted something from their parents. She was Alexandra's favorite.
Maria came third. She was known as the kindest of the daughters. She wanted more than anything to be a mother with a big family and marry a handsome soldier. She was called the angel of the family, and her older sisters wouldn't play with her as a child because she was such a goodie-two-shoes.
Last was Anastasia, the most famous daughter. She was known as a devil and a comedian. She loved to entertain but also had a knack for causing mischief. She pulled mean pranks and constantly teased people. Her father called her Shvibzik, meaning "Imp" in Russian. Anastasia was always full of energy, making everyone around her smile and laugh. She was Nicholas' second favorite.
