Although the popularity of Karaism has waxed and waned, it was always a smaller population than the aggregate Pharisaic/Rabbinic community when the two co-existed. It is very unlikely that Karaism will replace or supersede Rabbinic Judaism.Answer:The Karaites, like the Samaritans, are a tiny group today, just a shadow of their former selves. It is Orthodox Jews who have the highest Jewish birthrate.
Christianity and Islam are two major religions that evolved from the Hebrew religion. Christianity was founded by Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Jew and claimed to be the fulfilled Messiah promised in the Hebrew scriptures. Islam, founded by the Prophet Muhammad, recognizes many of the same prophets as Judaism and Christianity, including Abraham and Moses.

There really was no religious split in Judaism, more so an evolution of the religion in response to the times. Judaism went into three stages, Biblical, Rabbinic, and Modern, and there never was a split in the religion itself.
