Anderson shelters were 6 ft high and 6.5 x 4 ft in area. Basically 6 sheets of corrugated steel bolted together and meant to be sunk in 3-4 feet into the soil, then covered with soil. They were meant for 4-6 people.

Anderson shelters were designed to accommodate up to six people. The shelters were 6 ft high, 4 ft 6 in wide, and 6 ft 6 in long. They were buried 4 ft deep in the soil and then covered with a minimum of 15 in of soil above the roof.
