Really this depends on how you look at things. The only still-independent company from now til then is Ford Motor Company. But others still exist under different names or as conglomerates or in some fashion. Companies like Sears-Roebuck are now owned by K-Mart. Marion Steam Shovel is now part of Dresser Industries. Standard Oil could Exxon Mobil (remember Exxon was Esso and Esso was SO for "Standard Oil". The name US Steel still exists but it's not the company it was then. General Electric still exists but it was not the company it was then. Westinghouse still exists but it is not the company it was then. International Harvester was around then, but under a different name. Gillette was just getting started. Kellog was growing as well. Pullman train car, Bermann Coal, Baldwin Locomotive Works, Alco and other train concerns are all gone now as are all of the railroads.
