Thee Iroquois League is also called the Six Nations. The Six Nations consists of the Tuscarora, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca nations

Each tribe of the league had its own tribal lands. These were in the area that later became New York state, with the Senecas on the west along the Genessee river, then the Cayuga around Cayuga lake, then the Onondaga, then the Oneida and the Mohawks on the east in the Mohawk river valley. In 1722 the Tuscaroras joined the league and were given land just north of these tribes.
