For centuries there was no Google and life went on. It is not really needed and if it was gone other things would be created. This has been proven through the years with the many inventions that have replaced something older.
___
Despite the fact it may very well be replaced with another organisation, there would still be repercussions.
Over 20,0000 would be unemployed and one of the internet's major search engines would disappear, as would YouTube and many other Google related programs.
Millions of people would suddenly be without their email (gmail is owned by Google).
Picassa, and all the photos stored by millions of people world wide would vanish, as would the valuable photos posted by them.
Millions of blogs, hosted through Google, would vanish.
Google Docs would disappear as well, leaving millions of users without word processing capabilities. Their stored documents/spreadsheets would vanish as well.
If people rec'd advanced notice, most would be able to move their mail/files etc, but Google would create a huge vacuum.
Well, instead of Google, people might create different search engines. They might also just use Wikipedia, it's full of information!
If you were talking about, "What would the world be like without search engines?"
The answer is is simple. Books. Books contain more knowledge sometimes even more than Google.
if you search google in google, it will show you a bunch or results about the pages of google and its services and for sure the first thing will come up is the google.com followed by google maps, google plus, google reader and other google services.
