It's all about sealing the leftovers from air. Either will work well enough if closed properly, but it may be that the plastic wrap can be put on more tightly. That may make a difference. A clean produce bag works well, too. And one can put a straw inside and draw out the air before twisting the top to close it. Not too much overkill there, but merely the application of a bit of thought. Doesn't take long. And it's air around food that kills the taste. Bon appétit!
It is a really bad idea to put styrofoam, cling film, etc. in an oven and in contact with your food. You and I have no idea what kind of chemicals could be released and come in contact with your food, and in any event it is very likely there would be some melting or a product could catch on fire. Always use oven safe plates, baking sheets, pans, etc. in the oven and use microwave safe cooking tools in the microwave.
It is not usually nesessary to put a cover on food in the microwave oven. Some people cover food to prevent soiling the inside of the oven.

Just last night I baked a plastic wrap covered Lasagna in Pyrex..... in fact, I made two 9 x 9 dishes without consequence. The pasta heated nicely in 45 minutes @ 350*. Easy removal without any cheese sticking to the wrap.... unlike it does with aluminum foil.
