First of all, it doesn't have a carb. I would suspect a bad distributor cap and rotor and/or bad wires and/or bad spark plugs. Also be sure the firing order is correct.
Vortec heads, an Edelbrock Air-Gap intake and matching carb. Hedders FIRST!
well dip$hit gmc make vortec
one Starch is a carb.
The EGR Valve is located right behind the carberater. After pulling the dog house off and the air filter holder that sits above the injectors, it'll be easier to see. It looks like a cilinder held on by to bolts into the carberator. Addtional info: On our 1994, it only came with a 4.3 Vortec engine the EGR is accessed by removing the air cleaner housing top and bottom. You'll see it under carb intake port and just above and to the left of the thermostat housing. It is easy to get there if you use a short standard screwdriver and take the filter tube off of the carb there, near the front of the engine. A 10mm socket is needed for 2 bolts It helped to have a long extension for my ratchet wrench. Make sure you are careful with the gasket. Most of the time you can just use carb cleaner to clean up the valve instaed of buying a new one.
Sounds like you still have carb issues. You say you soaked the carb, was the carb disassembled, parts soaked, cleaned, and reassembled with a carb rebuild kit? If not, that is what you need to do.
Could be a plugged PCV system
A high carb diet has a greater chance of causing energy crashes than a low carb diet, since your body converts carbs to sugars and burns through them quickly. A low carb diet with plenty of protein (from sources like beans, fish, lean meats, and nuts) will leave you feeling energized for longer.
NO it will not. You would need the heads off the vortec engine to make it all work. The 96 that you are talking about should be a VORTEC engine already from the factory. But you may have an early 96 and that is why it is a TBI engine. That was the year they switch to a vortec. 96 TBI no such animal,TBI OBD2 no
you would need to change the cylinder heads also.See link below
