Probably the Tail light fuse is blown. You also lose dash lights when this fuse blows also.
the plug behind the battery might be unplugged or that same plug is disconnected from the fuse box
check and clean the battery terminals
I was driving down the road and my car lights went dim and my 1992 lumina started to lose power.
Do you mean the engine won't turn over too? If so, I'd check to see if a fusable link has burned out. A fusable link is a piece of wire that acts as a fuse in between your battery and the fuse box. If burned out, you could lose power to your dash lights and starter as you describe. Hope that helps.
The relay that controls the taillights and interior lights on a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage is in the driver's side fuse box. It is to the left of the steering wheel in the dash. One thing to note about this vehicle is if a brake light burns out, the car might also lose the dash lights or interior lights. Check the brake lights before replacing a fuse that might not need replacing.
Why does all the gauge lights come on while driving a 1998 S-10 pick-up.Seems to lose power. Go out and security light stays on.
Check your headlight switch. You might have a bad switch (fairly common). There are two circuits that go to the headlight switch. One wire feeds the headlights and another one that is fused feeds the taillights. Another wire comes off the headlight swtich and feeds the dash lights usually with a 5 amp fuse. If you lose the tail lights, the dash lights won't work either.
Don't do it! There are possibly other circuits connected to the junction terminal where the chime is powered from. You could lose dash and/or tail lights.
If there is power lost, lights that dim and a battery light that comes on there is most likely a connection that is loose somewhere. It would be best to check the alternator or battery cables.
There are many advantages of battery powered Christmas lights. For one, you will not have to worry about the power supply. In addition, they may be safer as the voltage will be much lower.
Check all of the fuses.
