What will schools of the future look like?

Schools will use technology.

Most likely schools will begin using technology more often in school and out. This is already the case for several schools across the country. Many schools are now beginning to implement technology initiatives for their students where students receive their own personal computers for school use. Students can record lessons, do worksheets, assignments, and projects on their computers, without having to use a single piece of paper. Some do not even have to come to school anymore because they can easily be home schooled on the computer.

Schools may also start to use interactive write boards more often because it is much easier and saves lots of money on markers and chalk. It also makes it easier to show movies and keynotes without having to erase and redraw everything each time you need to do something. They can also be used to show visual morning and afternoon announcements for students during classes rather than using the traditional intercom. They can also be used to show websites and other interactive resources to students.

Schools will also be built able to handle this technology. WiFi will be a must in future schools for all the computers and things that will be needed. They will also need to have rooms to accommodate massive Servers for all of their students files and to be able to handle all of the technology being used.

Student's grades will be posted on the internet or on a database. There will be no need for the traditional handwritten grades. Parents will be able to access their child's grades at any time and virtually any place. It will also become very easily to contact a teacher through email or another service about their teaching or your child's performance.

Schools will be designed smarter and more efficient.

Most likely the future schools will be built more energy efficient seeing how they will begin to use very high voltage technologies. Many schools will be built with more windows and less lights. They will also be built with more fire resistant surfaces. That way they are very safe.

Instead of having to manually unlock doors for the school, all a teacher or staff member may have to do is hold a card up or show their face. They can then just walk right into the building without any trouble or stalling at all. This way there isn't any hassle if someone had forgot their key and they can just enter a code or walk right in.

Motion activated lights may also become common in the major hallways of the school. If the lights detect there is no one there, they will shut off. That way the school saves electricity due to their lights not being on all night long.

Many schools will also be using motion activated sinks, toilets, and hand dryers. That way less students will get sick from touching surfaces, and surfaces require less cleaning.

Most surfaces inside the schools will also become easy-to-clean. Many will begin using linoleum rather than carpet and wood because it is very simple to just sweep it with a broom and to wash it with a machine. For large schools this would make it much easier.

Less students will have lockers. Due to the fact that many of their books will become digital copies, they will have no use in lockers. They may also start using tablet computers to write things, so paper and pencils will not be required. Most objects will just be carried with the students and there will be no need for them to be late for class.

Teachers will begin to receive teaching.

Many teachers may start to have to take weekly training and lessons. That way they are prepared to work with the technology they are using and are prepared to teach the subject they will be teaching the best they possibly can. With weekly training for teachers, our education system may begin to see much needed improvement.

The reason I know much of this is because I've been through the entire experience myself and I must say I am very excited about the future of schools, and I hope all public and private school are designed this way in the future. At my school, the graduation rate had went up 10% the first year our new school was built and student performance began to improve.

Education will be digitalized completely in near future. As per Bill Gates, the best and improved education will be on the internet in next five years. It will be more convenient, easily accessible and less costly. 50 years...Kids with a degree?! I think it will be much easier to get a degree since digital books are already available, online education has become a trend, and homeschooling is so much easier now because of the internet.

With regards to the quality of education, I think it is still vital to choose the right university. The school should be updated and really have some solid foundation in offering online education.
