The prospect of hover cars, robots, and weather control are all subject to the limits of technology and scale. While human society has succeeded in electronic communication, data transfers, and nuclear physics, there are some physical limitations inherent in the universe. Should gravity, cell structure, or thought processes ever be fully understood, the potential effects would be even more incredible than the usual predictions for future advances.

The future I've heard is already coming, and FAST!
Look at the way things are now, because soon there will be robots teaching schools, animals at home with collars that allow them to talk in our human language, dogs and cats getting hover beds, and footballs that can calculate trajectories and go where you want them to go.
People will see all sorts of new stuff in the future. Take note of what your life is like now, because humanity is about to take a whole new turn on the road to the future.
The future tense is will like.

Mostly like present bikes, but, as nobody can predict the future, there may be some surprises.
I understand it as something like: "What could this be used for in the future?".
Predicting the future is not possible.
