The fifteenth amendment to the US Constitution was silent about the vote for women. One of many outstanding women for female suffrage was Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Her response was vocal and her words went like this in her discontent: " aristocracy of sex..." and "...if you do not wish the lower orders of Chinese, African, Germans, and Irish, with their low ideas of womanhood to make laws for you or your daughters...awake to the danger....and demand that women too, shall be represented in the government".
