If you are currently inactive you should start off by walking for 30 min. a day for a few weeks then up it to 45 min. After a few more weeks you could start throwing in a little jogging a couple of days a week. You need to also drop some calories out of your diet, 500 is the most common amount to begin with. Buy a pedometer they are $10.00 at wal-mart. It will tell you how many miles you walk and how many calories you use. Good Luck
