All they are wanting to do is big themself up and bring you down. There's only one way to stop them, stand up to them. Skit them back, if they threaten you, threaten them back, if they hit you, hit them back. Then it comes down to who's the hardest, if they're harder than you, get a weapon. I'd class it as self defence, but no one has the right to bully someone, and bullies need to face the consequences.
