I RECENTLY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 99 ALERO AND I THOUGHT MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING OUT. LUCKY FOR ME ALL I NEEDED WAS A NEW SPEED SENSOR WHICH I PICKED UP AT MY LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE FOR $16.00. WOW !!! THAT WAS A CHEAP AND EASY FIX. WHICH TOOK A CRAWL TO THE TRANNY AND A PHILIPS SCREW DRIVER... THANK YOU JESUS !!!!
Helical gears are used because they run more smoothly and quietly than straight-cut gears.
no.
You need to use the clutch and the shifter smoothly together!
broken clutch cable could also be a shot slave cylinder...this will cause the clutch pedal to not come back up.
Sounds more like a transmission mount. When you drive it if it doesnt jump when it shifts gears then more than likely its a mount.
SAME PROBLEM WITH AN 04 ALERO. NOW THAT COOD WEATHER IS HERE IT TAKES A LONG TIME, DOWN THE ROAD, BEFORE IT WILL SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE ? ? ?
if it doesnt shift into gears smoothly or at all. rev. is the first to go in most cases.
If this is about a motorcycle, then the answer is that the engine can only deliver power smoothly in a limited range of RPM. If you don't change gears according to the speed you're going at, the engine will fall out of that range and begin to act up.
Make it glide more smoothly and keep rust off of the chain and gears the chain touches.to reduce wear and unwanted friction
A worn transmission gear can cause a Chevy Impala to whine when the gears change. A bad fan belt can also cause this.
Remove cover , which is simple if you have harmonic bal. puller. Gears on cam have dowel holes in head that line up with holes in cam gears. dot on crank gear straight up with dot on block.
Could be the gears slipping. Might need new gearbox.
