Run a compression check on all cylinders. Make sure you mark the sparkplug wires before you pull the plugs so that you can get them back to the right place without too much trouble. As you pull the plugs, check each one to see the color of the insulator. If there is one plug that is black and the rest are white or light brown it might be an indicator that the cylinder is missing. Write down the compression of each cylinder as you check them. If one or more is considerably less PSI than the others it/they may have burned valves. If the plug is black but the compression is up it might be oil fouling from bad rings or valve stem seals.
You need spark, fuel and compression. You must be missing one of those. The ignition module in the distributor may be the cause if you have no spark.
try checking youre timing
could be the magnetic pick-up in your distributor, I replaced mine and it solved the problem.
Spark plugs, distributor cap, and distributor rotor should be replaced. Ignition coil should be checked for corrosion at the post. Clean or replace as needed. Spark plug wires should be inspected for corrosion. Clean or replace as needed. PCV valve should be cleaned. Fuel filter should be relaced. Air filter should be inspected and replaced if needed. Oil and filter should be changed if applicable.
Spark Plugs need replaced Bad or Old Distributor or even a weak fuel pump, or old fuel filter.
Check your timing belt. It may have broken or jumped a tooth. If it looks worn, replace it, and be sure to retime the sprockets when you do it.
has the gas tank cap been recently replaced????
timing belt probley comon thing
BEst bet is the alternator... some tell tale signs are wierd gauge reads and it dies while driving it...
You do not clean any fuel filter you just replace it. If it has a filter in the tank it is a permanent filter that is only replaced when the pump is replaced.
The fuel filter is a permanent filter located inside the fuel tank. It is only replaced when the pump is replaced.
The Honeywell filter should be replaced every 8- 12 months or as needed.
