Often what you're describing is nothing more than the fuel pump or fuel filter. A low pressure fuel pump or partially blocked fuel filter won't be able to send enough fuel for the injector(s) to operate properly when the engine is under load but it will be enough to operate when the engine is at an idle. You might also want to check the bypass/pressure regulator.
