A clogged catalytic converter? Or some other exhaust pipe obstruction. Try removing an O2 sensor on the exhaust and see if it accelerates then, if it does, your catalytic converter could very well be clogged. Also, if your EGR valve isn't working properly, it will cause your engine to stall out. Hope this helps.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but ( no ) If you are only replacing the distributor cap , it only fits on ( 2 ways ) The correct position and 180 * out
Make sure both valves are closed in compression stroke. If not you will be 180 degrees off (exhaust stroke)
There are two ways to do this.Set the engine at TDCMark the rotor position and install the new distributor in the same orientation as the old.Either way careful work is rewarded with a trouble free job.
mark position of old distributor on motor and on old dist, also mark position of rotor. Remove old distributor, mark the position on new distributor, move rotor to the marked position, drop in
That should work, but be remember you may be 180o off, so you mave have to adjust.
U need a Throttle Position Sensor.
If it has a distributor: 1. Take the ignition wires off the plugs and mark them 1 2 3 and 4. 2. Pop the cap off leaving the wires in it. 3. At the base of the distributor there is a single bolt holding it in. Mark the position of the rotor before you pull it out. 4. Lift the distributor out. 5. When replacing it make sure the rotor is in the correct position. 6. Do the reverse of these steps to put one back in.
Check you coil. Should have 12v on primary side with ignition switch in on position.
Assuming you have set the engine to #1 TDC and marked the position of the distributor and the position of the rotor, remove the distributor hold-down clamp and it's bolt, then pull the distributor up and out.
Inside the distributor.Inside the distributor.
It is part of the distributor. You have to replace the distributor
It's located on the distributor. You don't have to remove the distributor to replace the sensor. Remove the air cleaner, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the distributor cap, disconnect the camshaft position sensor wiring harness, remove the distributor rotor, lift the camshaft position sensor assembly from the distributor housing Camshaft Position Sensor. Installation, Install the camshaft position sensor into the distributor. Align the sensor into the notch on the distributor housing, connect the wiring harness, reinstall the rotor, reinstall the distributor cap. Tighten the mounting screws, reinstall the air cleaner.
