There are design problems with the L61 2.2L L4 Ecotec engine, the Timing Chain is broken. Bad chains and too small a hole for the oil spout. Failure @ 30,000 to 50,00 miles.
A timing chain, that needs to be replaced, can cause your engine to run rough and lose power. A broken timing chain can cause significant engine damage.
its only a small engine??
If it is restricting the flow of fuel, it can cause low power.
There are pages and pages of things that can turn on the check engine light. You need to have it checked fro codes with a scan tool. You can then dignose the cause of the code.
cause it would probalby be cool
Could be a worn belt, failing power steering pump or low power steering fluid.
no that shouldn't make the check engine light to come on but that's not good on the fuel pump i would change the gas in the tank
Multiple problems could cause a vehicle engine to lose power, including, but not limited to: Cylinder misfire, because of fouled spark plugs, damaged valves or a failed injector. Dirty air cleaner. Fouled fuel filter. Failed EGR valve. Faulty ignition system. To name but a few.
change the fuel filter
Typically when the engine misfires it will feel like jerking. Find out why the engine is misfiring; run a computer diagnostic test and the computer should reveal the answer.
Most likely a partially plugged catalytic converter Or engine misfire Is the check engine light on?? If not have your exhaust backpressure checked
slipping alternator/power steering/ auxillary drive belt
