I would guess you have a bad or loose drive or serpentine belt or your disc brake warning device is telling you that your brake pads are worn out. New Post---Pincheweenie: To piggyback on that....... : NO guessing required here....I have a 03' SES that is chirping and I have replaced the serpentine belt twice, one of the pullies that was wobbling around in there and the tensioner. The noise is gone but we will see if comes back. Oh, each of those parts were replaced 2-3 days apart. Each time the noise went away (without WD-40)upon leaving the shop and driving for a day or so. : The next step is to check the moving parts that each element turns the belt with. In case your wondering, it cost about 350 bucks for all that. Not to bad considering.
If the chirping noise speeds up as the truck speeds up, check the u-joints in the drive line.
It is possible the subwoofers are causing a chirping sound, you would be best taking them to a local dealer in your area and asking for professional advice
usually it is the serpatine belt sometimes the pwr steering pumpi
I had the same chirping noise. My chriping was the belt and/or the power steering pump. I replaced both. no noise now. I would first replace the belt, then the pump
A glazed belt can make that noise. Try rubbing a bar of soap on the belts and start it up. If the noise goes away temporarily, replace the belts.
I had a similar problem in a taurus. I had to replace the alternator.
I would check the suspension bushings, if one of them is worn it would cause a knocking noise.
glazing of the belt may cause that noise time to replace, little bit of dish soap will take it away
Camshaft Position Sensor / syncronizer
Check the idler pully.
What would cause a grinding noise after a tire is replaced and the brakes are not worn?
There are several things that can cause your 2002 Ford Taurus to hesitate when accelerating. A dirty air filter will cause the problem.
