Is it a cable or a rod? Check to see that it did not just come off. It's a rod linkage. The end of the rod that connects to the tansmission won't move. Thus the gas paddle won't go to the floor. You will have to check the adjustment on the linkage. Slack the bolt that holds the rod and see if it moves freely at the transmission up and down. If it does, then its just an adjustment at the throttle. If it does not, then you will have to have the transmission checked at the shop.
Kickdown cable needs adjusting.
Assuming there isn't transmission damage, you probably have a kickdown cable. It's a cable that gets pulled on when you press the gas. It takes into account how hard your gas pedal is down, and delays shifting the closer you are to WOT. (wide open throttle) Perhaps it is a little too tight. Becareful though - if it's not the problem and you move the kickdown cable, you can damage the tranny if you make it shift too hard. So make sure you scribe a mark or something before you even touch it so you know where it was originally. There will likely be a bracket of sorts that allows minor adjustment.
a changed printer cable
I had the same problem on my 1999 Omega V6. It was looked at by several people and no-one could seem to find the reason for it happening. In the end, I removed the accelerator cable (which includes the kickdown switch for the auto box, located near the bulkhead), and took apart and cleaned the kickdown switch (the small rectangular black box) This solved the problem completely. I would suggest that if cleaning does not work, then the cable (including kickdown switch) be replaced. Hope this helps P.S. my control cable frayed....
Yes, a broken or disconnected accelerator cable is the likely cause for the accelerator pedal to quit working. The car will still run fine but will not be able to accelerate past idle.
You may need to replace the speedometer fuse. The speedometer cable can cause your speedometer to stop working. The speed sensor can also cause the speedometer to stop working.
There are a few reasons that could cause the speedometer to stop working on your Toyota Camry. If the mileage is still working then the speedometer cable end is damaged. If both the odometer and speedometer do not work then the cable is most likely broken.
Either that, or the speedometer cable went bad.
i there a switch on a saturn that would cause it not to start Yes the neutral safety switch.
Broken speedometer cable?
Broken speed cable. probably doesn't have a cable it works off of a vehicle speed sensor. it could be bad
