Low oil level....or bad lifter(s) for you pistons. Bad valves. Probably lifters.
Answer:Is the knock from the engine or transmission? In gear or in neutral? This could be a harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley), loose torque converter bolts, low oil pressure, etc...or maybe a problem with the timing belt.
It is unlikely to be valve lifters. You'd likely hear bad lifters at all times. Lifter noise just at idle suggest oil pressure concerns such as low oil level or failing oil pump or even a sticking oil pressure regulator.
If you had a knock from pistons, crankshaft bearings, etc...you would also hear it most all the time, and louder when the engine was under load like accelerating from a stop or going up hill.
A bad harmonic balancer can cause a knocking noise. The harmonic balancer doesn't actually produce the noise, but it can cause the noise in the engine.
Having a bad rod bearing could cause a truck to make a loud knocking noise and shake when driving at high speeds. The engine having a coolant leak or an engine timing problem could also cause the knocking noise.
knocking noise
Crank Shaft.
can you elaborate? engine noise? stationary/moving? ticking, tapping or a definite knocking?
NO. A knocking noise in the engine is a problem in the engine.
Running too lean.
When your engine has a knocking noise, it could mean that a rod has been thrown. It could also mean you are low on oil.
Sorry, disregard this question, I didn't word it properly.
maybe the carberator i dont know im not a machanic or anything
sell it
The knocking noise is commonly called spark knock. The knock can be called by the engine timing not being set correctly, or using gas that has too low of an octane for the engine.
