It's probably your shock mounts, I had the same problem. The noise went away after I replaced the shock mounts.
back struts are bad or exhaust is loose
I would check the suspension bushings, if one of them is worn it would cause a knocking noise.
Check your rear Shocks, Transmission mount, exc.
A loud thud noise in the rear brakes might be caused by stuck calipers or by brake drums that are out of round. You might also have uneven wear on the brake pads.
Maybe that thumping noise is the sound of another car smashing into the rear of your car.
Wheel bearing is on its way out.
Bearings going bad.
What type of noise? Clunking, squeaking, rubbing. A little more information would help.
You probably need your bearings repacked
could be the CV jopints of the car
rear differential got lube? rear wheel bearings?
